‘Paper Gods’ Author Goldie Taylor Shares Inspiring Words After Book Picked Up for TV

The Daily Beast editor-at-large Goldie Taylor will have her 2018 best-selling sexy thriller Paper Gods turned into a series produced by John Legend.

John’s production company is teaming up with actress/producer Nia Long to bring the novel to the silver screen. Nia will also star in the ABC series.

Once the news broke, Goldie tweeted her gratitude about the project but also inspired writers to begin their careers.

Paper Gods surrounds the life of a fictional Atlanta mayor who seems to be living the perfect life with her Ivy League credentials, heart surgeon husband, and twin daughters. Then her world is turned upside down when her congressman friend is gunned down. In the congressman’s Bible, she finds a “paper god,” an origami marker that turns up at the sight of other murders across the city. She has to solve the mystery before her own potential murder.

The novel is published under the All Points Books and St. Martin’s Publishing Group imprints with Macmillan Publishers.
